So I was reading this article today and was reminded how weirdly skewed award season is, I mean remember how Lady Antebellum swept the Grammy's? Weird. So when it comes to movies and actors, I often think that "the academy" makes some interesting choices. Like remember when Avatar was nominated for Best Picture? Let's be serious folks, that was no best picture. I mean sure, the effects were spectacular, but the acting and plot were completely lacking when it comes to nominating a years best film, at least I think so. But, here's the kicker, I think I still give more credit to movies and actors that have won Academy Awards! I don't know why. They've totally gotten to me! Blast that Academy.

Also, on a fairly unrelated note, I saw this quote from Brad Pitt today: "I'm one of those people you hate because of genetics. It's the truth." Hate, Brad? Or love?

  1. I dismissed the Grammys ages ago as pointless...and now suddenly Arcade Fire wins Album of the Year. Now I just don't know what to think about award shows.
However, my thoughts on Brad Pitt are much more clear: Love, but jealous of the kick-a beard he grows.

  2. I choose love. This post made me laugh.

  3. I love Brad's face, but as a person I hate Brad! Also I agree with stupid Avatar movie... it was lame except for the graphics, but lets face it I do not go to movie's for the graphics!

  4. Love Brad, and oh my goodness. I had to argue the Avatar point for an hour with my brother in law one day, who thought hands down it should have WON best picture...guys and their special effects. Mind-blowing.
